If You Foundation is a nonprofit organization in Orlando, Florida. We run free programs for children and the families who carry them. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website and the IF You mobile app.
Because our programs serve children, this policy is written to meet the notice requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its 2025 amendments.

What we collect, and from whom
We collect information from a parent or guardian when they register a child for a program. We do not ask children to give us information directly, and accounts in the IF You app belong to the adult.
- About the child: full name, date of birth, home address, school and school grade.
- About the parent or guardian: name, relationship to the child, email address and telephone number.
- An emergency contact: name, relationship and telephone number.
- Medical information relevant to safe participation: known conditions, allergies, and past joint, muscle or bone injuries.
- If you create an account in the IF You app: the email address and password you choose, and a record of your family’s attendance and of messages exchanged with our team.
We do not condition a child’s participation in any program on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary to take part.
Why we collect it
- To enroll a child in a program and to plan and run it.
- To keep children safe while they are in our care, including responding appropriately to a medical condition.
- To reach a parent, guardian or emergency contact when something happens.
- To communicate with families about schedules, attendance and activities.
- To report on the reach of our work to funders and to the public — always in aggregate, never naming a child.
- To meet our legal, insurance and accounting obligations.
How long we keep it, and when we delete it
We keep a child’s information only while the child takes part in our programs, and for the sole purpose of holding that registration. We do not keep it indefinitely and we do not keep it for any other use.
- Registration and attendance records: kept only while the child takes part in the program, and only to keep that registration. When a child leaves the program, we delete them.
- Medical information: kept only while the child takes part, because its only purpose is safe participation, and deleted when they leave.
- App account records: kept while the account is active. If you ask us to close it, we delete the account and its messages within 30 days.
When a retention period ends, we delete the information or remove everything that identifies a person from it.
Who else sees it
We do not sell information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing or for training artificial intelligence systems.
We disclose it only to:
- The staff and volunteers running a program, who see only what they need to run it safely.
- Service providers acting on our instructions and prohibited from using the information for anything else — our website host (HostGator), the host of our mobile application and its database (Amazon Web Services) and our email provider (Google Workspace).
- Google, which measures how our website is used on our behalf through Google Analytics. This covers visits to our public pages only — it is never connected to a child’s registration record. The cookies involved are listed in our Cookie Policy.
- Emergency medical personnel, if a child needs care while in our program.
- Public authorities, where the law requires it — including a mandatory report concerning a child’s safety.
What we do not do
The IF You app contains no advertising, no analytics service and no third-party tracking software. It does not ask for your location, your contacts, your microphone or your photo library. Nothing you do in the app is shared with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not build behavioural profiles of children or of anyone else.
Rights of parents and guardians
As the parent or guardian of a child whose information we hold, you may at any time:
- Ask to review the information we have collected about your child.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Refuse to let us collect or use it any further — though this may mean your child can no longer take part in a program that depends on it.
Write to us at app@ifyoufoundation.com or telephone (407) 962-9988. We will verify that you are the child’s parent or guardian before acting, so that no one else can obtain your child’s information by asking.
Security, and what happens if something goes wrong
We protect this information with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, and we limit access to the people who need it.
If personal information is nevertheless exposed, Florida law (Fla. Stat. § 501.171) requires us to notify the people affected without unreasonable delay and no later than 30 days after we determine a breach has occurred, and to notify the Florida Attorney General as well when 500 or more Florida residents are affected. We will do so.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it or who receives it, we will update this page and the date at its top. Where a change materially affects information already collected from a child, we will obtain a parent or guardian’s consent before it takes effect.
