A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser so it can remember something between pages or between visits. This page lists every cookie ifyoufoundation.org actually sets, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy.
Cookies we need to run the site
These make the site work. They carry no information about you as a person.
- notification — remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it is not shown to you again on every page. Set by our own site.
- wp-settings-1 and wp-settings-time-1 — remember screen preferences inside the WordPress administration area. These are set only for staff who sign in to manage the site, never for visitors.
Cookies that tell us how the site is used
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and on what kind of device, so we can make the site more useful. We look at these numbers in aggregate. We do not use them to identify anyone, and we do not use them for advertising.
- _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts two years.
- _gid — distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts 24 hours.
- _ga_H4Q3S7VS5R and _ga_25T3WSDB5N — keep the state of each Google Analytics property. Last two years.
- _gat_gtag_UA_134833329_1 — limits how often data is sent, so a busy site does not overload the service. Lasts one minute.
These cookies are set by Google, which processes the data on our behalf.
What we do not use
We set no advertising cookies. There is no remarketing pixel, no social media tracking pixel and no data broker on this site. We do not sell what the analytics cookies collect, and we do not combine it with the information families give us when they register for a program.
The IF You mobile app
The app sets no cookies. It contains no analytics service and no third-party tracking software, and it does not ask for your location, your contacts or your photo library.
Children
Our programs serve children, and we do not use cookies to build profiles of them or of anyone else. The analytics cookies above measure visits to public pages; they are not connected to a child’s registration record.
How to refuse or remove cookies
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Refusing the analytics cookies does not stop the site from working — you will simply not be counted in our visitor numbers.
Google also publishes an opt-out extension that stops Google Analytics on every site you visit, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Changes to this page
If we add or remove a cookie, we will update this list and the date at the top of it.
